Gully man injured in Highway 2 accident

According to a report from the Minnesota State Patrol based in Thief River Falls, at 7:23 a.m. today, Michael P. Rendahl, 21, of Gully, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu west on U.S. Highway 2 in Bagley when he veered across the eastbound lanes and struck a light pole.

The car caught fire, which was extinguished by emergency responders. Rendahl was wearing a seat belt and the air bag deployed. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to Clearwater County Memorial Hospital in Bagley for treatment. The car was totaled.

The Clearwater County Sheriff's Office assisted the State Patrol.
