Golf: Curb finishes 16th at Minnesota State Open
Bemidji State golfer Chris Curb finished tied for 16th place at the 94th Minnesota State Open Championship last weekend at Rush Creek Golf Club.
Curb finished the three-round tournament at one-under par with a total of 215 strokes on the par 72 course.
He improved as the tournament went on, scoring a 73 in the first round, 72 in the second and 70 in the third round.
Curb's final round card had three birdies, 14 pars and one bogey.
Jeff Peltier finished tied for 55th with a tournament score of 7-over, 223. He shot 71 on the first day, 72 on the second day and 80 on the third day.
Bemidji native Bill Isrealson competed in the tournament but did not make the cut. He finished at five-over.
Jon Sauer of Tianna Country Club finished in a tie for third place at 6-under. He shot 69-69-72 for a total of 210.
Troy Johnson, an amateur playing out of Rush Creek, won the Open with a tournament score of 10-under par. He shot 71-68-67-206.
