Golf: BSU women win own invitational

BEMIDJI— The Bemidji State women’s golf team finished first its own Bemidji State Invitational Friday at the Bemidji Town and Country Club.

The Beavers recorded a 339 (+51) to place them 33 strokes ahead of the second place team, Minnesota State Moorhead.

BSU freshman,Monica Woldtook home first place with a score of 80 (+8).Rachel WoldandKelly Blairrecorded matching scores of 86 (+14), but R. Wold took third place honors due to carding a better score on the final nine holes.Olivia Knutsoncame in fifth with a score of 87 (+15).

Minnesota Crookston came in third while. Individually for Crookston, Katie Sheetz came in second with a score of 82 (+10).

The Beavers are back in action this weekend when they travel to Brainerd to compete in the NSIC fall championship at the Classic at Madden’s. The first stage of the league championship will include 36 holes, while the final two rounds will be played April 20-12 at Dachota Ridge in Morton.
