Golf: Bagley's Titera qualifies for state meet
BEMIDJI -- Sara Titera of Bagley placed 10th during Tuesday's Section 8A tournament at the Bemidji Town and Country Club and the sophomore punched her ticket to the state meet.
In the team chase, Kittson County Central claimed the boys title while Badger-Greenbush-Middle River won the girls championship.
BGMR shot 359 to take the crown, nipping Fosston by four shots. West Marshall placed third at 422 and Bagley rounded out the field with a 450 team score.
Titera shot a 95 on a perfect day for golf and joined four Fosston golfers as the individuals who will join BGMR at the state meet.
Kylie Bergh shot 102 for Bagley while Cassie Keough finished at 122 and Bayli Dukek at 131.
Also competing Tuesday were Red Lake's Tatianna McClain (108) and Alysha Beaulieu (131) plus Miranda Richards of Cass Lake-Bena (111).
In the boys division, KCC dominated the team tournament as it shot 333. BGMR was a distant second with 350 while Fosston and Walker-Hackensack-Akeley each shot 360.
No area boys qualified for state. Kyle Pemberton of CL-B shot 93 while Bagley's Jack Laudon finished at 92. Jarret Merschman of Bagley carded a 93 and teammate Travis Willberg had a 98.
