EAST GRAND FORKS -- The Bemidji High School girls soccer team rallied from a late 1-0 deficit and came back to top East Grand Forks 2-1 Tuesday night.
After the Green Wave (4-1) scored early in the second half, the Lumberjacks (2-2) scored in the 62nd minute and the 70th minute and held on for victory.
"It was a fantastic game," Bemidji head coach Kellie Schoonover said. "You could feel the intensity of that entire game, especially in the second half.
"I can't remember the last time we beat East Grand Forks on their home field, so we're all really excited."
After a scoreless first half that featured 14 shots on goal from the Green Wave, East Grand Forks took the lead at the 42nd minute when Lizzie Holkesvig beat Bemidji goalkeeper Casey Palmer to make it 1-0.
But the Lumberjacks rallied.

"We really stepped up the intensity in the second half," Schoonover said. "It was a complete nailbiter up until the end. It was a really fun game to be a part of."
