The first period was a clean period that saw no penalties and just 12 total shots with a 7-5 Moorhead advantage.

The Lumberjacks spent more time on the penalty kill then they would have hoped in the second period, but managed to outshoot the Spuds 15-7 in the period.

After failing to capitalize on its first power play opportunity, Moorhead got a pair of breakaway opportunities from senior Tori Davis, but she was denied by Rockensock each time.

Less than two minutes after killing a second penalty, the Lumberjacks committed their third penalty of the middle frame to give the Spuds another power play opportunity.

Luckily for Bemidji, this time Moorhead committed a penalty of its own early in the power play to create 4-on-4 hockey for 1:23 before getting its only power play opportunity of the game.

The Lumberjacks maintained the puck and created shot opportunities, but were unable to score before the end of the second period.

Bemidji committed its fourth penalty in the opening minutes of the third period.

Moorhead saw several scoring opportunities during the advantage, but could not capitalize for a fourth time.

Bemidji got one of its better scoring opportunities of the night in the final minute of regulation with a 2-on-1 breakaway, but Moorhead goaltender Brianna Storms poked the puck away from Megan Dondelinger to help keep the game scoreless and force overtime.

Up until the the final minute, the Spuds owned possession of the puck for the majority of the third period, as they outshot the Lumberjacks 10-4.

The Lumberjacks outshot the Spuds 4-1 in overtime, their sixth overtime game this season, but could not get a shot by Storms.

Storms made 28 saves on the night.
