The Lumberjacks, who finished the regular season 10-9-5, will be the No. 4 seed in the Section 8AA tournament. They’ll take on No. 5 seed St. Cloud (14-10-1) at 7 p.m. Saturday at Bemidji Community Arena in the first round of tournament action.

Section seedings were announced Wednesday afternoon.

In other tournament action, No. 1 seed North Wright County (20-4-1) will take on No. 8 Brainerd-Little Falls (2-22-1); No. 3 Sartell-Sauk Rapids (15-8-2) will host No. 6 River Lakes (10-11-4) and No. 2 Roseau (15-9-1) will play No. 7 Moorhead (7-16-1).

The Lumberjacks played St. Cloud once this season and fell to the Icebreakers 3-1 in the St. Cloud Invitational earlier this season.

However, the Jacks had a 5-3-1 record in games against Section 8AA opponents while the Icebreakers were 5-5.

The section semifinals are scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 12, while the section final is set for Friday, Feb. 15.

The girls state tournament will be held Feb. 20-23 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
