“We came out OK but we were a little flat-footed,” BHS head coach Jackie Robertson said. “They scored those two early goals and we couldn’t recover.”

The Rams (3-1-0) scored just under three minutes into the game after a Lumberjacks turnover in front of the goal. Josee Lundgren scored an unassisted tally at the 2 minute, 57 second mark to make it 1-0. Michaela Dahl scored Roseau’s second goal at the 8:48 mark and the Rams went into the locker room leading 2-0.

Roseau’s Saphire Moser made it 3-0 four minutes into the second period before the Lumberjacks (1-3-0) managed to get on the board.

Jacie Lalli scored her first goal as a Lumberjack on the power play at 7:22 to cut Roseau’s lead to 3-1.

BHS couldn’t get any closer, as Roseau’s Morgan Hegelson scored on the power play two minutes into the third.

“We were able to come back strong in the second but they came out hard in the third,” Robertson said. “We just couldn’t come back after that fourth goal.”

Emily Frazer started and made 31 saves in goal for Bemidji while Jenna Baumgartner made 14 saves for Roseau.

The Lumberjacks return home Thursday when they take on International Falls.
