The Girls Scouts of the Bemidji Area is seeking sponsors for a May event that will celebrate the 100th year of the Girl Scouts.
"A Golden Tea for Juliette and Me" will be held in honor of Girl Scout founder Juliette Gordon Low at 11 a.m. May 5 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Bemidji. Proceeds will support local Girl Scouts through financial aid for members, camp and programs as well as camp building projects.
Area women and businesses are invited to support the event by hosting a table for eight guests. Luncheon tickets are $20 per person.
The keynote speaker will be Linsey Ness of Blackduck, a teacher and past Girl Scout Gold Award and National Young Woman of Distinction recipient.
Guests also will be entertained by Wadena actor Mary Harrison's portrayal Juliette Gordon Low, a "live exhibit" of girls dressed in historical Girl Scout uniforms past and present, and the musical talents of the high school Girl Scout Troop 572.
To reserve a ticket, or for more information on becoming an event sponsor or a table host, call the Bemidji Girl Scout Office at 751-4886.
