George Henry Shogren
George Henry Shogren, 67, of Quiring Township, Minnesota died Thursday, August 15, 2013 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, August 23, 2013 at Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck with Pastor Steve Pomp officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. He will be laid to rest in the Quiring Union Cemetery.
He was born April 13, 1946 in Blackduck, MN to William and June (Carlson) Shogren. Upon graduation from Kelliher High School in 1964, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served for three years and was stationed at Ft. Benning, GA. He attended BSU for a time. After moving to northern California, he worked at Teledyne in Walnut Creek, repairing TVs and went to college to finish his accounting degree. He had lived in Quiring Township for 30 years and had been a tax preparer and a farmer.
He is survived by four brothers, Roger "Gus" Shogren of Quiring, MN, Gregg (Lou) Shogren of Tenstrike, MN, Mike (Cheryl) Shogren of Mena, AR and Joe (Galena) Shogren of Seattle, WA; five sisters, Mary Lou (Eilert) Helm of Vergas, MN, Patricia (Alan) Kuschner of Portland, OR, Bonnie (Alfredo) Padron of Quiring Township, Kathy (Dan) Rosenberg of Phoenix, AZ and Laura (Kevin) Helblad of Saum, MN; an uncle, Roger Carlson of Menagha, MN; an aunt, Laura Simanton of Malta, MT and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother in 1962 and his father in 2007.
