Geoffrey Rueger Woodley, 52, of Cass Lake, MN, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 near Bena, Minnesota as a result of a car accident. He was the much beloved son of his parents Clarence and Charlotte (Rueger) Woodley, the loved brother, of Christopher and his wife Linda Woodley, the adored uncle of Briar Lynn, Holly Anne, and Glenn C. Woodley, and he much loved his friend, and life companion Patricia Mason. He was dedicated to his work of helping children, and families.
Memorial Services will be 1:00 pm, Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the First Lutheran Church in Bemidji, MN with Rev. Warren Broughten officiating.
Arrangements are with the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.
He was born on December 30, 1955, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was raised and educated in St. Marys, PA, graduating from high school there. He attended Grove City College in Pennsylvania, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. He moved to Minnesota and attended the Mankato State University and earned his Master's degree in clinical psychology. He moved to Bemidji in 1982, and began work in youth services as a clinical psychologist at the Gilfillan Center. He later went on to work in this field with Family Focus in Brainerd. He enjoyed music, playing piano, the organ, and singing in the Bemidji Chorale. He enjoyed taking trips to the Boundary Waters Canoe area. He loved animals, especially his dogs. He also enjoyed sailing, diving, swimming, cross country skiing, and hiking.
Memorials are preferred to the Bemidji Chorale, Trinity Lutheran Church of Laporte, MN, or the Shiloh Presbyterian Church in St. Marys, PA.
