Fundraiser underway for first responders

LAPORTE - The Tree of Life, an annual fundraiser for the Lakeport First Responders, is now accepting donations of $1 to $5.

All donations directly benefit the First Responders.

These donations buy a leaf in remembrance of a loved one to be posted in the Tree of Life frame at Miller's Gas & Service on Main Street. The campaign runs through May 28, with the Tree to be on display through the summer.

Businesses in Laporte and Benedict will be accepting donations. Mailed donations can be sent to Winnie DauSchmidt at 30846 390th Street, Laporte, MN 56461. Please make checks payable to the Laporte-Benedict Lions.
