Kinn sentenced to 52 years for murder, kidnapping, sexual assault

Full schedule of activities at Logging Days

BUENA VISTA – A variety of events are planned Saturday for the 30th Annual Buena Vista Logging Days.

Event-goers can access Logging Days through the Buena Vista Ranch driveway. Logging Days will be held 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Admission is $6 for those over 13 years old, $4 for those 6-12 years old, free for those under 5, and $25 for a family rate.

For all-you-can-eat flapjacks, served by the Bemidji Lions Club, the cost is $6 for those over 13 years old and $4 for those 12 and under.

Ongoing activities in the Village include all-you-can eat flapjacks in the Blacksmith Shop, sleigh rides, cross haul and jammer log loading, live music, blacksmith demonstrations, crosscut sawing, chainsaw sculpting, horse-powered logging, log-scaling contest, tomahawk throwing, roping contests, wood caring, chainsaw sculpturing, a treasure hunt, spinning demonstrations, and a raffle for a Logging Days Woolen Mills blanket.

Live music will be available in the Blacksmith Shop and the Hall of Fame building. Lumberjack registration and general information will be available in the Hall of Fame building.

Spinning and weaving will be done in the Hall of Fame building. Films will be shown in Buena Vista Church.

Ongoing activities in the Schoolhouse will be crafts and spinning.

Paul Bunyan Stew, hotdogs, hamburgers, hot chocolate and other food items will be available in the Buena Vista Chalet.

Demonstrations will be as follows:

-- 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Axe woodcarving with Monte Draper in the Caboose.

-- 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lumberjack Painting Collection in the Milwaukee Train Car.

-- 10:30 a.m. First City Square Dancers in the Hall of Fame building.

-- Noon Parade of Teams in the Village Circle.

-- 12:45 p.m. Paul Bunyan Costume Contest in the Hall of Fame building.

-- 1 p.m. Program in the Hall of Fame building.
