Frances Delores (Whitefeather) Cloud, 65, of Ponemah, died Sunday, Feb.15, 2009, at her home.
Traditional funeral services will be held at noon Friday at the Ponemah Community Center in Ponemah, with Spiritual Leader Anna Gibbs officiating. A wake will begin at 4 p.m. today at the Ponemah Community Center and will continue until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Cloud Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah.
Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home of Bemidji assisted the family with arrangements.
The pallbearers will be Norvin Cloud, Alex, Cloud, Richard Cloud, Clem May, Keith Roy and Ken Roy.
Honorary pallbearers will be her close family and friends.
She was born Aug. 21, 1943, to Frederick and Sarah (Sailor) Whitefeather in Cass Lake. She grew up in Cass Lake and graduated from Cass Lake High School. After high school she attended college, for a couple of years, in Haskell, Kan. She met and married Norvin Cloud Sr. Aug. 11, 1968, in St. Paul, Minn. They remained in St. Paul, until moving to Red Lake, when she went to work as a social worker for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. She retired from the social work field in 1995. She enjoyed playing cards, going to the casinos and spending time with her grandson.
She is survived by her sons, Norvin (Kerry) Cloud of Shelton, Wash., Alex Cloud of Ponemah and Richard (Sharyl) Cloud of Cass Lake and a grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters and a brother.
