According to the Minnesota State Patrol out of Thief River Falls:

Antoinette D. Malone, 22, of Bemidji, was driving a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix east on Carr Lake Road as she crossed Highway 197, failing to yield for a southbound 1988 Honda CRX driven by Victor A. Lynne, 33, of Puposky, and causing a collision.

The Bemidji Fire Department used the Jaws of Life to extricate Lynne from his vehicle.

Both drivers, who were wearing their seat belts, were taken to North Country Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and were treated and released.

Two passengers in the Grand Prix also were injured, but were not named by the State Patrol.

The crash was reported at 6:20 p.m.

Both vehicles were totaled.

Assisting at the scene was the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, Bemidji Police Department, Bemidji Fire Department and Bemidji Ambulance Service.
