Four candidates vie for Ward 4 seat

BEMIDJI –Four candidates will be considered for the vacant seat on the Bemidji City Council.
The candidates, who had to apply before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, are Linda Lemmer, Lee D. Falk, Reed Olson and Byron J. Rock.
The candidates will be interviewed by the council in a special meeting at 7 p.m. Monday Jan. 28. The city charter requires the council to fill a vacant council seat by appointment. If they fail to do so 30 days after the vacancy was declared, a special election would be held.
The vacancy was declared after Rita Albrecht won the mayoral election in November midway through four-year term as the Ward 4 councilor.
