Former NTC president to head Wisconsin system
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Ray Cross, president of Northwest Technical College in Bemidji in the 1990s, was selected Friday to head the University of Wisconsin System's two-year schools and outreach programs.
A search committee said Friday it had picked Cross, now president of Morrisville State College in New York to be the next UW Colleges and UW-Extension chancellor.
Cross has served as president of Morrisville State College since 1998, when he moved from Bemidji. He had served as Northwest Technical College president since 1992.
The full UW Board of Regents still must confirm him. Cross would succeed David Wilson, who stepped down as chancellor in June to become president of Morgan State University.
