St. Cloud, Minn., native and former Bemidji State standout Travis Winter has been serving as an assistant coach for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders since 2009. The RoughRiders are a team in the United States Hockey League. The Wings play in the lower-tier North American Hockey League.

The American News reports (http://bit.ly/10259cE ) that Winter will be the Wings' third coach this season. Aberdeen has not won a game since Nov. 30 and is on a 14-game winless streak, the longest active streak in the league. The Wings are 8-24-4 overall.
