Forecast looks balmy, inviting for outdoor enthusiasts

BEMIDJI – Finally, a warm-up is forecast this week and outdoor enthsusiasts will rejoice.

If predictions hold true, it should make getting outside a bit easier, particularly for those snow-loving enthusiasts.

One to 3 inches of snow is expected Monday night, and more is possible Wednesday.

That should make it appealing for skiers and snowmobilers to head outdoors.

Along with snow, the National Weather Service in Grand Forks, N.D., is forecasting warmer temperatures following a few weeks of arctic temperatures dipping to minus-20 or more below in some locations.

Below is the weather service’s prediction through Sunday.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 17. A low around 2.

Wednesday: A 40 percent chance of snow. Cloudy, with a high near 26. A low around 14.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 22. A low around 10.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 29. Low around 15.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 28. A slight chance of snow at night with a low around 15.

Sunday: A slight chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 27. Low around 13.
