Florence Adele Chute, 82, of Bemidji, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Oakland Park Communities Care Center in Thief River Falls, Minn.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji with the Rev. Tim Pomp officiating. A visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. today at Cease Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji.
She was born Sept. 5, 1926, to Henry and Clara (Ohlberg) Jensen in Hamar, N.D. She was raised and educated in International Falls, Minn.
She married Lester Robert Chute on Sept. 4, 1954, at Zion Lutheran Church in International Falls. After raising their family in International Falls, she and her husband lived for a few years in the Marshall Islands. Her husband worked for a military contractor and she worked at a military post exchange. They retired in Bemidji.
She is survived by her sons, Alan (Sharon) Chute of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Michael Chute of Brownsville, Texas; daughters, Roxanne Chute of Thief River Falls and Suzanne Chute of Bemidji; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Milo Jensen of Phoenix, Ariz., and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2006; infant granddaughter; sister, Clarice and brothers, Harvey, Earnest and Byron.
