The first of two significant storm systems is moving over Beltrami County today.

According to a press release from the Beltrami County Office of Emergency Management:

Snow, which will be heavy at times, will continue through the day today. Total snow accumulations will range from 2-10 inches. The snow is expected to total more than 6 inches and will be isolated to a narrow band generally from Fargo to Mahnomen to south of Bemidji. Widespread areas with 2-5 inches of accumulation will be most common.

The area should get a breather on Tuesday and then get another snowstorm Wednesday, which is expected to have a bit of wind associated with it. Another 6 inches of snow is expected before the Thanksgiving weekend. Blowing snow visibility for the Holiday.

A winter storm warning is in effect through this evening. A winter storm watch is in effect through Thursday. The area could have a foot of snow on the ground by Friday.
