The donation supports the furnishing of Village of Hope, a replacement/expansion emergency homeless shelter for families in the Bemidji area who are homeless. Construction is expected to begin in December at 525 Mississippi Ave. N.W. in Bemidji.

The new facility will house as many as 28 individuals from six families. Ours to Serve House of Hospitality's current facility is licensed for only six shelter beds. As a result, the agency turns away more than 250 people each year due to a lack of space.

Funding for the Village of Hope has been provided by the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency, George W. Neilson Foundation, Red Lake Housing Authority and the city of Bemidji. Community members can view the building plans and renderings of Village of Hope at www.villageofhopebemidji.org.

To support the project, visit the Web site or call Ours to Serve House of Hospitality at 751-0722.
