First candidate files for Bemidji School Board
BEMIDJI - A Bemidji resident has announced her candidacy for the Bemidji school board.
Paula DeClusin filed for election Tuesday. To date, she is the only candidate to file for one of three open seats on the Bemidji school board.
Filing is open until 5 p.m. Aug. 14.
Up for election this year are three four-year seats currently held by Gene Dillon, Ann Long Voelkner and John Pugleasa.
Candidates must be 21 years old, be an eligible voter, a resident of the district for at least 30 days prior to election and not be convicted of a felony.
The filing fee is $2. Affidavits of candidacy are available at the superintendent's office, 3300 Gillett Drive NW.
