Fire reported Monday at abandoned building in Bemidji
While firefighters were fighting the Regency Park Apartments fire, the Bemidji Fire Department also responded Monday afternoon to a structure fire at an abandoned building in Bemidji.
According to a press release from the Bemidji Fire Department:
A report of a structure fire at 1201 Fifth St. N.W. was made at 5:25 p.m. Upon arrival, the building was about two-third involved in fire.
Responding were the Bemidji and Bagley fire departments as well as the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in the abandoned, 2,500-square-foot dwelling.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Also assisting were the Solway Fire Department, Blackduck Fire Department, Bemidji Ambulance, Bemidji Police Department, Beltrami County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Border Patrol.
