Fiery crash injures man in Yellow Medicine County

CLARKFIELD, Minn. - A Clarkfield man is in critical condition this morning after his vehicle collided with another car and then burst into flames last night in Yellow Medicine County.

Ryan Bruns, 29, was injured when the car he was driving collided with one driven by Gloria Piipke, 69, of Minneota.

The accident happened about 9 p.m. at the intersection of state Highway 67 and County Road 9, west of Clarkfield.

According to the State Patrol, Bruns was going east on Highway 67 and Piipke was traveling south on County Road 9 when their vehicles collided. Both vehicles ended up in the ditch and Bruns' vehicle started on fire.

He was taken to the Dawson Hospital and is in critical condition.

Piipke was treated and released for injuries at Dawson Hospital.
