FERN TOWNSHIP – An early-morning house fire in Fern Township in Hubbard County caused about $17,500 in damage to the home and contents, according to a press release from the Bemidji Fire Department.
The living-room fire was reported at 4:25 a.m. Tuesday by the homeowner on the 12000 block of Hubbard County Road 9. No one was injured.
According to the press release:
Nineteen Bemidji firefighters responded with two fire engines and three tankers, quickly extinguishing the flames. They remained on scene about three hours.
The cause of the fire is under investigation but it appears to be accidental in nature.
Assisting at the scene were the Hubbard County Sheriff’s office, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office and Beltrami Electric Cooperative.
