Female crash victim is identified
The 19-year-old woman who died following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday has been identified as Jennifer Ann Cartwright of Bemidji.
Cartwright died following a crash involving a FedEx semi-truck/tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle, according to the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office.
The crash was reported at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Birchmont Beach Road Northeast and Bemidji Avenue North, the Sheriff's Office said.
Cartwright was the driver and sole occupant of the passenger car. She was taken to North Country Regional Hospital and later pronounced dead, the Sheriff's Office said.
The driver of the FedEx truck, who still has not been identified, did not report any injuries, the Sheriff's Office said.
Responding to the crash site were the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, Bemidji Fire Department, the Minnesota State Patrol, a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources conservation officer, Bemidji Ambulance Service and an off--duty paramedic/registered nurse who provided assistance at the scene.
