Federal Dam man found guilty in burglarizing foster parents' home

A 28-year-old Federal Dam man has been found guilty of second-degree burglary by an Itasca County jury.

Gerald Benedict St. John Jr. was found guilty Thursday of burglarizing his foster parents' Deer River home, stealing items valued at about $3,700.

Sentencing has been set for Dec. 19.

According to the criminal complaint, St. John stole a chainsaw, flat-screen TV, three digital cameras, computer notebook, Nintendo Wii and accessories, an Xbox and jewelry in November 2010. Investigators learned the items were sold at Bemidji pawn stores.
