Father, son injured in Highway 2 crash out of Altru Hospital; funeral set for children

The father and son injured Wednesday in the truck-van collision west of Grand Forks that killed two children have been released from Altru Hospital, a nursing supervisor said.

Kevin Boyer Jr., 39, was driving the van hit by a semi-truck pulling a double van trailer about 10 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 2 at the airport road, or Grand Forks County 5.

Kaylee-Jo Marie Wyatt, 8, and Kevin Boyer III, 5, were killed.

XXAXX pronounced Zax) Boyer, 3, was released the same day as his father.

Steven Nelson, 64, was the truck driver from Jamestown, N.D. He was treated and released from Altru Wednesday.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol turned in a report to Grand Forks County State's Attorney Peter Welte, who said he would decide whether to charge anyone in the accident.

Funeral services for Kaylee-Jo and Kevin will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Gregory J. Norman Funeral Chapel, 2950 S. Washington St., Grand Forks. Visitation will be there for two hours before the service.
