Fatal crash reported in Cottonwood County
STORDEN -- Minnesota 30 was shut down for approximately four hours this morning after a two-vehicle crash that ended in a fatality at about 8:03 a.m., according to information released by the Minnesota State Patrol.
The head-on accident took place just east of Storden near mile marker 65.
The report states a 1998 Inter-national semi-truck pulling a trailer and driven by Lonnie Edwards, 51, of Heron Lake, was headed east on Minnesota 30. Westbound was a 1995 Toy-ota Corolla.
The two vehicles collided in the eastbound lane. Edwards, who was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, had no apparent injuries. Damage to the semi was severe.
The identity of the driver and whether or not there were passengers in the Corolla has not been released. The report states that information will be re-leased at noon Wednesday.
