Fargo student pulled from pool, taken to hospital

FARGO – A male student was pulled from the pool at Fargo South High School on Tuesday morning and his condition is "serious," Fargo Schools Superintendent Jeff Schatz said at a news conference.

Schatz said two staff members were in the pool at the time. The student was "struggling" in the deeper end of the pool, Schatz said. The student was given CPR immediately.

The student's name or grade level in school has not yet been released. The student is hospitalized and Schatz did not release the name of the hospital.

The superintendent said the student was part of a physical education class called “Fitness for Life,” that uses the pool.

Schatz says a further investigation of the incident will take place.
