St. Mark’s to host Christian band

BEMIDJI — Branches Band, a Milwaukee-based Christian band, will perform at 7 p.m. July 25 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 2220 Anne St.

Trinity Lutheran to host dinner

LAPORTE — Trinity Lutheran Church, 27689 474th St., of Laporte will host the Annual Chicken Dinner 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 7.

A freewill offering will be collected and no reservations are needed. Proceeds will go to local, state and national charities.

Everett to perform for BACM

BEMIDJI — The Bemidji Area Church Musicians will present Beverly Everett in an organ concert noon July 24 at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, 1800 Irvine Ave. NW.

Everett is the music director for the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra and holds degrees in organ and conducting from Baylor University and the University of Iowa, where she earned her doctorate in musical arts.

There is no charge for the recital, but a freewill offering will be received. A luncheon will follow the recital.

Family music festival set

BEMIDJI — The 8th Annual Family Music Festival is set to begin 5 p.m. Aug. 2 and run until 1 p.m. Aug. 5. at Lake Itasca on the Pioneer Farmers’ grounds by the north entrance to the park.

Children 12 and younger are free, a weekend pass costs $20, family weekend pass costs $65, just Friday costs $10, just Saturday $15, rough camping costs $10 and RV camping costs $20 and no hookups are available.

No pets, drugs or alcohol are allowed at the festival.

Luncheon and sale planned

CASS LAKE — The Immanuel Lutheran Church women are hosting the “Salad Luncheon and Bake Sale” 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 25 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 301 Neils Ave. NE, in Cass Lake.

The luncheon cost is $5 and includes a beverage and dessert. Proceeds will go to students in Haiti.

Tim-O Olympics scheduled

SOLWAY — Children age four-years-old to grade six are invited to the Tim-O Olympics 6:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday-Wednesday at Solway Bible Chapel, 400 Byes Ave. NW.

The event is free and will include olympic games, archery, skits, paintball, music, snacks and more. For information, call 766-8754.

First Lutheran offering two services

BEMIDJI — The First Lutheran Church will be having two services Sunday. The first will be 8:30 a.m. at the church,  900 Bemidji Ave. N, and the second will be 10 a.m. at the fairgrounds.

All are welcome to come hear tunes from the past. Song leaders and band members will include Jon Romer, Steve Wilds, Barb Horn, Kathy Faver, Kathy Douglas, Ron Lyman, Lisa Graefe, Bob Zarrett, Ted Thorson Jr. and Sarah Carlson.
