Concert set at Evangelical Free
BEMIDJI – The Evangelical Free Church will present the church’s Adult and Handbell choirs at 6 p.m. Sunday at 115 Carr Lake Road SW.
The concert will be followed by desserts in the church’s Outreach Center. The event is free and open to the public.
Music to be performed includes selections used in worship services throughout the season, including a setting of an Easter text written by Kenneth Wold.
The handbell choir will perform pieces using special effects. Featured performers include Mary Davey, vocal soloist; Lea Bodenheimer, flute; Evan Wilson, guitar; Elizabeth Westlund, violin; Valerie Westlund, cello and Laura Englestad, piano. There will also be an accompaniment with a “singing bell.” Directors are Kenneth J. Wold and Judy Emery.
Salad luncheon scheduled
BLACKDUCK – The Blackduck Presbyterian Church is hosting its annual salad luncheon and rug raffle from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 4.
Leonard Anderson, 96, has crafted a braided rug for the raffle.
The public is invited to attend. The church is located north of Blackduck on State Highway 72.
Guest to speak at Bethel Lutheran
BEMIDJI – The Rev. Mark Chavez, general secretary of North American Lutheran Church, will speak at the 9 a.m. contemporary service and 10:30 a.m. traditional service Sunday at Bethel Lutheran Church, 5232 Irvine Ave. NW.
