Extension Service hosts woodlands conference
BEMIDJI — The University of Minnesota Extension Service is sponsoring the Minnesota Family Woodlands Conference Friday and Saturday, March 14-15 at the BSU Lower Hobson Union.
The event is planned for family woodland owners but anyone interested in northwoods nature is welcome.
Friday’s itinerary includes a mill tour, workshops on monitoring your woods and detecting forest pests, plus a gathering of women woodland owners.
Saturday’s schedule includes discussions on woodland topics presented by 20 local experts. Information on a variety of topics, including wildlife habitat improvement, emerald ash borers, timber sales, easements and winter tree identification will also be available.
