Export Essentials coming to Bemidji

The Minnesota Trade Office, in partnership with the Northwest Regional Small Business Development Center and Northwest Minnesota Foundation, will be in Bemidji and Crookston in November with three signature Export Essentials programs: The Export Process, International Market Research, and Finding and Motivating the Right Business Partner.

Topics will include assessing a company's export readiness, finding the right markets, market entry strategies, protecting intellectual property, arranging shipments and collecting payment, and strategies for locating and selecting the right distributor.

Export Essentials will be taught by Ed Dieter, deputy director with the Minnesota Trade Office; Mary Jo Stangl, international education adviser with the Minnesota Trade Office; and Mark McNeil, chair of International Practice, Lindquist and Vennum PLLP.

The Bemidji session will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at Beltrami Electric Cooperative, 4111 Technology Drive N.W. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. The fee is $35 in advance and $45 at the door. A networking lunch is included.

The Crookston session will be held Nov. 4 at the Mount St. Benedict Monastery, 620 Summit Ave. Hours and fees are the same.
