Eva Marie Lof, 103, of the Park Rapids and Nevis areas, died Monday, July 6, 2009.

She was born April 24, 1906 in Galena, Ill. to Elmer and Josephine (Warmath ) Sisco. As a girl, she ventured with her family to the Park Rapids area where she attended country school at Emmaville.

On Dec. 30, 1922 she married Edwin Alex Lof. They had five children. She and her husband owned and operated Lof Lumber Co. in Nevis for many years. She was involved with the Hobby Shop in Nevis and Park Rapids. She was a member of Church of Christ in Nevis, the Missionary Society and the Nevis Study Club.

She is survived by her son, Clifford "Kip" E. (Frances), of Nevis; three daughters: Dorothy Sonnack, of Minneapolis, Lorraine (Robert) Terlson, of Golden Valley, and Marlene (Perry) Shortridge, of Maplewood; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Buehner, of Park Rapids; a brother, Charles (Aileen) Buehner, of Circle Pines; a sister-in-law, Lila Buehner, of Oregon; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992; her son, Roger, in 1988; three brothers; one sister; and two great-grandsons.

Honorary casket bearers: Her grand daughters: Joan Moore, Coleen Kerchner, Connie Swan, Nancy Condon, Jan Ward, and Jane and Julie Shortridge.

Casket bearers: Her grandsons: Terry and Michael Sonnack, Mark and Brad Terlson, and Eugene, Gregory, Steven and Rodney Lof.

Funeral service: 11 a.m. Friday, July 10 at Church of Christ in Nevis, with T. Wayne Douglas officiating. The vocalists will be Bill and Jan Lundsten who will sing, "Precious Lord Take My Hand" and "Amazing Grace." The organist will be Lynn Rittgers. Congregational hymns will be "How Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 9 at Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids and Friday beginning one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment: Next to her husband in Lake Emma Cemetery.
