Eunice I. Muff, 92, of rural Ogema, died Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at St. Mary's Nursing Center in Detroit Lakes.

Eunice Irene Gilbery was born to William and Edith (Champion) Gilbery on July 13, 1915 in Kragnes, Minn. She was raised and educated in the Kragnes-Glyndon area. As a young woman, she worked on a farm as a cook for the farm workers. Eunice married Christian Muff on Dec. 4, 1935 in Glyndon. They farmed in Sugar Bush Township, rural Ogema for their entire married life. Chris died in 2000.

Eunice enjoyed her family, gardening, flowers, Lawrence Welk's music and cooking for company.

Surviving Eunice are her daughter, Irene (James) Mulari of Ogema; three sons, Marvin (Carol) Muff of Osage, Roger (Barbara) Muff of Callaway and Larry (Kaye) Muff of Ogema; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; as well as two sisters, Violet McDougall of Tumwater, Wash., and Dorothy McDougall of Detroit Lakes.

In addition to her husband, Eunice was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Warren, and two sisters, Etta and Marie.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday, April 7 at David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes; there will be a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation continues for one hour prior to services Tuesday, April 8 at Strawberry Lake Mennonite Church in rural Ogema.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 8 at Strawberry Lake Mennonite Church, with Delmar Yoder and Otis Yoder officiating. Interment will be in the Strawberry Lake Mennonite Cemetery.
