Eunice Lillian (Anderson) Barnes, 93, of Bagley, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at the Clearwater County Memorial Hospital in Bagley.
A prayer service will begin at 1 p.m. today at the Northern Point Community Church of the Nazarene in Kelliher. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Kelliher.
Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home of Bemidji assisted the family with arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Leroy Sutton, Gary Krueth, Ron Krueth, Carrol Storbeck, Ray Meyers and Jim Michel.
Honorary pallbearer will be Elmer Sutton.
She was born March 17, 1915, to Amund and Sena (Nielsen) Anderson in Rockdell, Minn. She attended school in Kasson, Minn. She worked at the Mayo Clinic. In December 1945, she married Keith Barnes in Rochester, Minn. They moved to a homestead in Cormant Township in 1947. In 1981, she moved to Bemidji, and in 2005, she moved to Bagley. She enjoyed reading and she pursued educational classes in library science at Bemidji State University. She was an original organic gardener. She enjoyed knitting, crochet, sewing and quilting. She was a charter member of the Sons of Norway of Bemidji.
She is survived by her daughters, Pat (Fred) Iverson of Sacramento, Calif., and Cheri (Sid) Michel of Bagley; son, Richard (Bobbie) Barnes of Salcha, Alaska; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five sisters and four brothers.
