Erma Cooper, 91, of Bemidji, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.
Memorial Services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home with Pastor Linnea Papke-Larson officiating. A Time of Sharing will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the spring in Greenwood Cemetery, Bemidji.
Erma Marie Shuberg was born January 20, 1922 in Estherville, IA to Peter and Minnie (Peterson) Shuberg. She graduated from Spencer High School, Spencer, IA in May 1940. She married Leo E. Cooper at Estherville, IA in September 1947. She came to Bemidji, MN in September 1950 and was employed with the Bell Telephone Company from 1940 until retirement in 1975. She loved family gatherings and being with her grandchildren. In her earlier years she was an avid antique collector and enjoyed going to auctions. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Telephone Pioneers of America and Society of Military Widows.
She is survived by daughters, Connie (Kyle) Young, Mesa, AZ, Becky (Kenneth) Ranvik, Laurens, SC and Teresa (Nate) Bowe, Detroit Lakes, MN; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo Cooper; daughter, Nancy Dee and 3 brothers.
