Erickson's overtime goal nets win for BSU soccer team

FAYETTE, Iowa -- Senior forward Kirsten Erickson scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season Saturday to lift the Bemidji State soccer team to a 1-0 overtime victory at Upper Iowa.

Goalkeeper Sonja Barr collected her first collegiate shutout as the Beavers improved to 3-3-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the NSIC.

Nine minutes into the extra period, Erickson netted the third game-winning-goal of her senior campaign, heading in a corner kick off the foot of Kari McAllen.

The Beavers complete their eight-game road swing to open the season Sunday at Winona State.
