Environmental conference scheduled Saturday in Bemidji
The public is invited to attend Northwoods Encount-er: Exploring Minnesota's Wild and Green, an environmental conference, Saturday, May 1.
The event, hosted by the Mississippi Headwaters Audubon Society, will be 8:30 a.m.to 1 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2508 Washington Ave. S.E. in Bemidji.
Among the scheduled featured speakers are retired Department of Natural Resources biologist Bill Berg, Bemidji State University professor Annette Drewes, the Bigfoot Research Team and John Persell, DFL-Bemidji.
Cost is $10 to attend or $20 to attend with a lunch buffet included. To reserve a lunch contact the Audubon Society at firstname.lastname@example.org om. The conference is designed for all ages and everyone is welcome.
Included in the event are giveaway prizes, drawings, a chance to meet live raptors brought by the Headwaters Science Center, silent auction and more. Attendees are also welcome to participate in a free birding walk at 2 p.m. held at the Neilson Spearhead Center, 48851 County Road 29, Bemidji.
