Elverna Morris, 43, of Cass Lake, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, N.D.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cass Lake with the Rev. Anselm Thevarkunnel officiating. A wake will begin this afternoon at the Veterans Memorial Building in Cass Lake and will continue until the time of the funeral. Burial will be in Prince of Peace Cemetery in Cass Lake under the direction of Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.
Pallbearers will be Michael Morris, Aaron Morris, Harry Morris, Michael Schmid, Randy Finn and Tony Morris.
Honorary pallbearers will be Damion Morris, Azayleigha Morris, Anthony Morris, Matehya Morris, Natasha Morris, Jerrica Morris, Courtney Morris, Dynell Morris, Tonya Morris and Jasmine Morris.
She was born Feb. 22, 1965, to Harry W. Morris Jr. and Susan Finn in Cass Lake. She was raised and attended school in Cass Lake. She spent most of her life in Cass Lake. In the early 1990s, she moved to Minneapolis, where she worked as a waitress. She lived in several places in Minnesota.
She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and making things with her hands. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and playing with her grandchildren and children.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Amanda) Morris and Aaron Morris, both of Cass Lake; daughters, Kristine Morris of Cass Lake, Deahna Vanoss of Houston, Texas, and Brittany Weinand of Minneapolis; her parents; a brother, Tony Morris of Cass Lake; a sister, Davine Morris of Bemidji; her grandmother, Elverna Finn of Cass Lake; four grandchildren and six nieces.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Harry William Morris Sr., Susan Morris and Haley Finn.
