Ellen Katrina Carlson, 95, of Tahlequah, Okla., formerly of Waskish, Minn., died on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Waskish Baptist Church, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be later in the spring in Fairview Cemetery in Kelliher under the direction of Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck.
She was born Aug. 28, 1913, to Ole and Sigrid Olson in a one-room cabin near Waskish. She married Albin M. Carlson June 23, 1937, and moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in October 1948.
She and her husband were missionaries in the Baptist General Conference. They returned to Waskish in 1973. She remained there until moving to Go Ye Village in Tahlequah in1987.
She is survived by her son, Albin A. (Karen) Carlson; a daughter, LouRayne (Steven) Erickson; a foster daughter, Carol (Charles) Olander; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter, Vera Jean Gaines.
