Elizabeth H. Sarff, 90, of Bemidji, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji with the Rev. Kent Dudley officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Cass Lake.
Pallbearers will be Kim Dagne, Sam Goss, Mike Diekmann and Dave Patterson.
She was born Dec. 31, 1918, to Herman and Emma (Davis) Bencker in Wilkinson Township in Cass County. She was raised and educated in Cass Lake, graduating from Cass Lake High School in 1938. She married Marcell Sarff Sept. 26, 1938, in Cass Lake. They owned and operated a store in Wilkinson Township until 1941. After World War II, the couple lived in Omaha, Neb. They moved back to Wilkinson Township in 1959, and moved to Bemidji in 1999. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, reading, canning and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her husband, and brother, Frank Bencker of Omaha, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and two sisters.
