Elinor Odet Nensen Dahl, 96, of Bemidji, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at the North Country Regional Hospital, Bemidji.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Rainbow Room at Havenwood Care Center, Bemidji, with Rev. Kent Dudley officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be in Frohn Eastside Cemetery, Beltrami County. Arrangements are entrusted to the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji.
She was born Feb. 23, 1913, to Albert and Mary Nensen in Bemidji. When she was a young girl, the family moved to Canada and then moved back to Bemidji where they homesteaded in Frohn Township. During her years of living in Bemidji she worked as a cook in various restaurants including Dahl's Café and Swedmark's Lodge, where she retired in 1975. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her son, Earl Dahl of Roseville, Minn.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dale Nensen.
