EGF mayor hospitalized in Bemidji
BEMIDJI -- East Grand Forks Lynn Stauss has been hospitalized in Bemidji, but is in good condition.
Stauss, who first took office in 1996, was absent from the city council meeting Tuesday night. City Administrator David Murphy told council members that the mayor had been hospitalized. Stauss is at the Sanford Medical Center in Bemidji and told hospital officials he is “doing fine,” according to a Sanford spokeswoman.
What sent Stauss to the hospital was unclear Tuesday evening. Family members either declined to comment or couldn't be reached.
Stauss is perhaps best known for leading the city through the devastating 1997 Red River flood.
