The fair educated K-12 students, families and community members on various health topics.

Amanda Lom, Rebecca Jerry and Michelle Williamson of the BSU Lifestyle Educators attended the fair to present the health implications and high costs of tobacco use. They also highlighted Bemidji State’s Tobacco Free Campus policy.

An estimated 150 people visited the Lifestyle Educators table, and prizes, were awarded to those who spun the “smokers roulette wheel.”

The Lifestyle Educators also collaborated with the BSU Admissions office and distributed recruitment materials to high school students.

Local students on BSU committee

BEMIDJI – Seven students are currently members of the Bemidji State University’s Student Activity Fee Allocation committee (SAFAC). The committee oversees the process used by BSU student organizations to apply for funding for student events, club, trips and various student activities.

Derek Lofgren and Rachel Munson, of Bemidji, are current members of the committee.

The purpose of SAFAC is to contribute to the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic development of society and provide opportunities for creative expression and personal development of BSU students.
