Edna Marie (Engvall) Kroll

Kroll, Edna Marie (Engvall) age 95, of St. Louis Park, MN, formerly of Bemidji, MN, passed away on August 11, 2013. Edna graduated from the U of M in 1939 with a degree in Home Economics. She married Richard Kroll in April 1941. Following WWII, they established their home in Bemidji, MN, where Dick owned a sporting goods store and Edna taught Junior High Home Economics. Edna was a founder of the first affiliate of The American Swedish Institute in Bemidji and Santa Lucia and Midsommer Fests there. After their retirements Edna and Dick traveled the world. Edna moved to St. Louis Park in 2001 following her husband’s death. She is survived by her daughters, Connie Kroll Skildum of Eagan, MN, and Anne Kroll (Doug) Dahlen of Burnsville, MN; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her beloved daughter Barbara Kroll Pillsbury Milne.

Services will be held at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave. S., Minneapolis, Friday, August 16, with 10 am visitation, and 11 am service. The family would prefer memorials to Edna Kroll Scholarship Fund for the American Swedish Institute or Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity.
