Economic summit will feature Payne

Angel investor and expert Bill Payne will be among the speakers at the Northwest Minnesota Foundation Economic Summit May 12 in the University of Minnesota, Crookston's Bede Ballroom.

The summit, titled "Igniting Innovation: Starting, Growing and Sustaining Business," will focus on entrepreneurs, business innovation and investment.

Payne, who received the 2009 Hans Severiens Award in April, will deliver a keynote speech and lead a panel discussion.

Payne is a member of Tech Coast Angels and Aztec Angel Networks in San Diego, CA; Vegas Valley Angels in Las Vegas, NV; and, Frontier Angel Fund in Whitefish, MT, all groups he helped found. He has funded dozens of startups in the last 20 years, some of which have made him millions, others of which have lost him thousands. He consults with dozens of companies and Angel Groups all over the world.
