BEMIDJI - A garage/shop fire early Saturday morning that caused an estimated $37,500 in damages appears to be accidental in nature, according to the Bemidji Fire Department.
Firefighters were called to the fire, in the 11000 block of Birchmont Beach Road Northeast in Turtle River Township, at 1:37 a.m.
When they arrived, firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, according to a news release from the department.
At the scene, there were 19 firefighters using two fire engines and three water tenders. There were no injuries reported.
The fire department spent about four hours at the scene.
"The fire caused an estimated $37,500 in damage tothe structure and contents," the news release issued Saturday morning said. "The cause of the fire appears to be accidental in nature."
The Beltrami County Sheriff’sOffice, Bemidji Ambulance Service and Beltrami Electric Cooperative assisted firefighters in responding to the blaze.
